About Us
Gwinnett Islamic Circle (GIC) has been serving Muslims in Gwinnett County, Georgia for nearly two decades. From our humble beginnings in a small suite to our beautiful purpose-built masjid, we continue to grow and serve our community with dedication and excellence.
Our Vision
To establish GIC as a dynamic center of Da’wah (calling to Allah), Ilm (holistic education), and Khidmah (community service) — a true powerhouse of faith and action. Our goal is to connect every resident of Gwinnett to the Masjid in a way that fosters a positive, uplifting, and enduring association with Allah ﷻ and His Deen. Through this connection, individuals are inspired to grow spiritually, contribute meaningfully, and serve selflessly, creating a community elevated by faith, knowledge, and service.

Our Story
From humble beginnings to a thriving community
During the 1990s, Gwinnett County experienced significant development, leading to increased job and business opportunities. This growth, by the grace of Allah (SWT), catalyzed the expansion of the Muslim community in the region, highlighting the need for a new place of worship to serve this burgeoning population.
The genesis of GIC dates back to December 2004, when approximately 15 community members gathered in a banquet hall to initiate a fundraising campaign for a new musallah. With the help of Allah (SWT), GIC was officially established as a non-profit organization by the state of Georgia in January 2005. By October of the same year, GIC had signed its first lease for a modest suite in a strip mall in Suwanee.
The community's rapid growth necessitated the leasing of two additional suites within just four years, underscoring the essential role of GIC/Suwanee Masjid in accommodating the needs of its expanding congregation, Al-hamdulillāh! By the grace and blessing of Allah (سبحانه وتعالى), the construction of our purpose-built masjid at 80 Celebration Drive began in 2015 and was completed at the end of 2019.
Al-hamdulillāh, the new Suwanee Masjid/Gwinnett Islamic Circle opened its doors to our brothers and sisters for the very first time beginning with I'sha salah on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.
Construction of our multipurpose building began in 2021, and opened in the Fall of 2023. This building serves various purposes, including salah overflow, marriage services, receptions, meetings, fitness classes, youth sports events, educational seminars, Sunday school activities, and more!
